Actress Anushka Sharma says Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the biggest strengths of the Indian cricket team. 

Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, who has been away from acting due to maternity duties, has lauded cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin, who has announced his retirement from international cricket.The actress shared a video of the BCCI on her Instagram stories section and wrote: "A lasting legacy.Ravichandran Ashwin was one of the strongest forces of the Indian team during his stint in international cricket and is regarded as one of the greatest spinners of all time. He was also a part of the 2011 ODI World Cup winning team and the 2013 Champions Trophy, where in the 2013 final, he bowled the final over that led to India's victory.Ravichandran Ashwin also contributed to Indian cricket with his bat as he provided strong support in the batting department in the lower order.Ashwin also played the second pink-ball Test in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He was left out of the squad in the third Test of the series where India struggled in the first innings. However, after rain managed to save the match and the match ended in a draw, Ashwin announced his retirement from international cricket, and left for India the same day after making the announcement.With this move, he contradicted captain Rohit Sharma's statement that the legendary spinner would leave just a day after announcing his retirement.Ashwin has taken more than 700 wickets in international cricket and more than 500 wickets in Tests, making him among the top ten wicket-takers in Tests. He has scored more than 4000 runs in international cricket with 6 centuries and 14 fifties in Tests. He is the second-highest wicket-taker for India after Anil Kumble. After Ashwin's departure, Team India now has a dependable player in Ravindra Jadeja at that position and in the spin department.
